He served three years as a Medical Technician in the US Army in WWII and was based in the Philippines, Australia and New Guinea.

Herman married Elsie Nygren in 1947 and had two children and four grandchildren. After Elsie's death in 2002 he married Ora Ann Hutton and had 14 years together.

Herman was a journeyman auto mechanic and worked many years at several Everett car dealerships followed by ten years in the Snohomish County Maintenance Department. Herman was always generous with his handyman skills and could fix anything. He was always there to help friends and relatives with their cars, plumbing or other repairs.

He loved spending time with his grandkids, visiting family, working in his garden and watching the Mariners.

Herman leaves behind his wife Ora Ann, his daughter Shirley Wilkins (Donald) and their children April Nielsen (Peter) and Eric Wilkins, son Gary Hagglund and his children with Michelle, Keith and Bradley Hagglund, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Erick and Eugenia, brothers Levoy, Roy, Alfred and Junious, sister Mildred Anderson and his wife Elsie of 55 years.

The family wishes to thank Hospice for the loving care Herman received from them.
